Fitzek, S: The Soul Breaker

en Hardback – 4 aug 2021
International bestseller Sebastian Fitzek plunges readers into the depths of their own souls in a new high-concept thriller.
The Soul Breaker destroys women.
He doesn't kill them or mutilate them. But he leaves them completely dead inside, paralyzed and catatonic. His only trace a note left in their hands.
There are three known victims when suddenly the abductions stop. The Soul Breaker has tired of his game, it seems.
Meanwhile, a man has been found in the snow outside an exclusive psychiatric clinic. He has no recollection of who he is, or why he is there. Unable to match him to any of the police's missing people, the nurses call him Casper.
Casper makes little progress regaining his memory, but he grows restless and wants to leave the clinic to piece together the few clues to his life. But the weather has taken a turn for the worse, and the clinic becomes completely cut off to the world outside.
No one is able to reach the clinic, and its staff and patients cannot leave. So when the head psychiatrist is found trembling, naked and distraught, with a slip of paper clasped in her hands, it seems somehow the Soul Breaker has returned . . .

Recenzii

Sebastian Fitzek certainly knows how to write a heart-stopping psychiatric thriller. This is the second book of his I have read and recommend it as highly as the other, Seat 7a, if not more
With a talent for scene-setting, descriptions, and tension-building, Sebastian takes his readers and sets them right down inside the world and minds of his characters. The vivid imagery also solidifies the believability of the story, and you find yourself caring so much for what has happened to the victims and what the outcome will be
PRAISE FOR SEBASTIAN FITZEK: 'Fitzek's thrillers are breathtaking, full of wild twists' Harlan Coben. 'Sebastian Fitzek is without question one of the crime world's most evocative storytellers. He always serves up an intense, impossible to put down thriller and The Package is no exception. A gripping read with a surprising twist, this one is not to be missed' Karin Slaughter. 'Sebastian Fitzek is simply amazing. I truly hope that one day I will be able to create suspense and plot twists in the way only Sebastian can. A true Master of his craft' Chris Carter. 'Spine-chilling... Masterful... Brilliant' The Times. 'Dazzling' Sunday Times. 'Grimly atmospheric' Guardian. 'A breakneck ride'
