Notă biografică
Daniel Weissbort was born in 1935. He studied History and did graduate work in the politics of post-Stalin Soviet literature. He has published translations of several Russian poets, including Nikolai Zabolotsky, as well as several volumes of his own verse. He lives in London.
Descriere
For many years the author was associated with the late Russian emigre poet Joseph Brodsky. This work offers an account of their relations, in which the author is both translator and confidant to the great poet. It also includes detailed discussions of the problems of translating Brodsky's poems.
