Notă biografică
John Lyon has been interested since childhood in water resources, watersheds and wetlands as places to study vegetation. As a full Professor of Civil Engineering at Ohio State University, he has used remote sensing and GIS as powerful analytical and evaluative tools in his research.
Descriere
Providing examples of real applications of this powerful set of tools, GIS for Watershed and Wastewater Management examines the fundamentals, demonstrates new approaches, techniques, and methods. The book presents the basic concepts, and shows readers how to acquire the critical information needed to plan and implement GIS studies, and to develop practical solutions for environmental management and problem solving. Helping readers to develop realistic models and derive accurate information, the chapter authors demonstrate the use of GIS and related technologies such digital elevation models, remote sensing date, aerial photo interpretation, GIS Modeling, and more.
