Heat Transfer in Subsonic Separated Flows: Heat and Mass Transfer

Autor Viktor I. Terekhov, Aleksey Yu. Dyachenko, Yaroslav J. Smulsky, Tatyana V. Bogatko, Nadezhda I. Yarygina
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 7 feb 2023
This book presents the results of scientific research performed over the past two decades by the authors. The book discusses some issues of separated laminar flows that are of great practical interest for the development of new technologies using microchannel flows, where separation zones can form. Of particular interest is the complex mechanism of flow separation with superimposed high external turbulence. The challenges of finding the optimal location for the cavities and fins on heat exchange surfaces are also considered. This is an important fundamental and practical problem when creating new schemes of efficient heat exchangers in various power plants. A wide class of problems of turbulent flow in tubes with flow separation is considered. These data will be useful in engineering estimates of the thermal–hydraulic efficiency of various heat transfer intensifiers. This book focuses on the analysis of thermal characteristics of separated flows, as well as the possibility of controlling the intensity of heat exchange processes, from the point of view of both their intensification and their suppression.

Notă biografică

Viktor I. Terekhov has a doctorate in Technical Sciences, is Professor and Researcher of turbulent aerodynamics and heat and mass transfer under complex flow conditions. After graduating from the Moscow Higher Technical School named after N.E. Bauman, all his scientific activity is associated with the Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics SB RAS. He obtained priority results on heat transfer on permeable surfaces, in flows with phase and chemical transitions, as well as in vortex and separated flows. Most of his research deals with investigations of heat transfer enhancement, both in single-phase and multiphase systems. An important place in his work is the creation of engineering methods for calculating the flow characteristics and heat and mass transfer in power equipment.
Aleksey Yu. Dyachenko is Senior Researcher of the Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics SB RAS. He has got a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Novosibirsk State Technical University, 2007. His research is aimed at studying the influence of separated flows on heat transfer.
Yaroslav J. Smulsky is Leading Engineer of the Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics SB RAS. Currently, his research interests are related to the study of dynamics and heat transfer behind a backward-facing step.
TatyanaV. Bogatko is Senior Researcher of the Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics SB RAS. She has got a Ph.D. in “Thermal physics and theoretical heat engineering”. She is engaged in numerical studies of separated flows on surfaces of complex geometry and their influence on heat transfer.
Nadezhda I. Yarygina (deceased) graduated from the Novosibirsk State University, her scientific activity was associated with the Kutatelazde Institute of Thermophysics SB RAS, where she worked as Junior Researcher, Senior Researcher and Leading Researcher. In 1972, she received a Ph.D. in "Thermal physics andtheoretical heat engineering". Her scientific interests were related to the study of heat transfer and gas dynamics processes in subsonic and supersonic flows.
