Recenzii
a welcome addition to a growing canon of works on modern Turkish history and politics, and apart from a desire for more Turkish voices, readers in these fields will find much to commend in Gingeras' reflections on Turkish foreign relations and the historic symbiosis between the deep state and criminal networks as well as his commitment to viewing Turkish history through a transnational lens.
this book has great merit and I strongly recommend it to specialists and generalists alike. Its prose is very readable and its argument and purpose concerning U.S. intelligence and popular Turkish perceptions concerning the Turkish "Deep State" are clear and substantiated.
deeply researched ... a fascinating read
provides an original contribution to the history of modern Turkey ... Gingeras' book is a remarkable contribution that paves the path for further studies on the topic.
