Recenzii
"This is a well-written book containing important up-to-date information pertaining to the fabrication, properties, and applications of hydroxyapatite coatings. I highly recommend this book to engineers and researchers working in the field, particularly graduate students."
—Paul K. Chu, City University of Hong Kong
"Hydroxyapatile is indeed one of the important materials in biology, medical, and clinical studies. Of course, coating of this important material is a central issue in its application. This book nicely picks up important subjects in the corresponding field and comfortably organizes chapters with important contents."
—Katsuhiko Ariga, NIMS International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA), Japan

Descriere
With a bonelike structure that promotes osseointegration, hydroxyapatite (HA) coating can be applied to otherwise bioinactive implants to make their surface bioactive, thus achieving faster healing and recovery. This book explores developments in the processing and property characterization and applications of hydroxyapatite, providing a timely resource for active researchers and newcomers to the field. HA experts from the United States, Japan, Singapore, and China present valuable insights on topics ranging from deposition processes to applications in orthopedic and dental implants and drug delivery.
