Notă biografică
Asis Kumar Banerjee, former Vice-Chancellor and former Professor of Economics, University of Calcutta, has held visiting positions at Presidency College, Calcutta; Indian Statistical Institute, New Delhi; and University of California, Riverside, California. His research interests include development economics, welfare economics, game theory and the measurement of inequality and poverty. His previous publications include the books Measuring Development: An Inequality Dominance Approach (2020) and Economic Slowdown in India: An Introductory Analysis (2023).
Descriere
This book explores the relationship between rising inequality of income and wealth on the one hand and a slowdown in the rate of economic growth on the other. It also explains the role of business managers in the private sector of the economy and the value of socially optimal decisions.
