Recenzii
"Dr. Hemphill reveals how addiction treatment pioneered integrated care because of its unique bio-psycho-social-spiritual recovery paradigm. He illuminates the unique ways addiction treatment has been adapted to the modern medical treatments available today. By highlighting these adaptations, he identifies which techniques set addiction treatment apart, explains why these techniques are such powerful tools, and shows how to use these techniques to implement coordinated care models. Those who read this work will walk away empowered by perceiving the existing connectivity hidden within the shadows of the looming silos of our healthcare system’s various specializations. Early intervention and addressing access disparities have never been more critical to healthcare services than now, and this book offers innovative solutions that any healthcare leader can utilize for optimal care."
Mark S. Gold, MD, distinguished alumni professor, chairman and emeritus eminent scholar, University of Florida & McKnight Brain Institute
"In this timely and prescient book, Dr. Hemphill has put into actionable form the meaning of ‘we’re all in this together.’ Addiction has crippled individuals, families, and communities for millennia, and modern approaches to addiction have come from seemingly disparate origins that include religious, medical, behavioral, and new age approaches. All of these have contributed in some way to the evolution of a more humane, compassionate, science-driven, and spiritual approach to treating addiction. Dr. Hemphill has outlined, through research and experience, his vision of how truly integrated care for individuals and families with addiction can and should unfold. As an Addiction Psychiatrist who has worked in the trenches for nearly 40 years, I believe that his map pointing to the way out of the quagmire of addiction is one that can be trusted to produce results."
