Prof. Zhiqiang Wu is currently vice president of Tongji University and a professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning. He is chief coordinator, assigned by the State Council for the principle of urban planning, the vice president of the National Committee of Urbanization in China, vice president of the Urban Planning Society of China, and vice president and founding member of the China Green Building Council and Chinese Building Energy Efficiency Council. He is an honorary fellow of the American Institute of Architects and academician of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Science, and serves as co-chair of the International Steering Committee of the World Planning School Congress, permanent member of the UNESCO-UIA (International Union of Architects) World Architectural Education Council, and mem
ber of the Advisory Committee—Creative Economy—United Nations Special Unit for South-South Cooperation, UNDP. Prof. Wu was the chief planner of World EXPO Shanghai 2010, the 2014 World Horticultural EXPO Qingdao, the comprehensive urban design of Beijing Sub-Center, the Earthquake Placement Plan in Sichuan and chief or consultant planner of more than 11 major cities throughout China. Prof. WU has published 215 articles in international and national journals and compiled more than 21 books. He is the editor-in-chief, editor or special guest editor of 15 national architectural planning journals; chair or on the board of 17 international and national academic committees. With his commitment to enhancing the collaboration between architects and planners from China and their international counterpar
ts, Prof. WU has initiated and organized more than 30 international academic conferences, seminars and forums. He has also given more than 120 keynote speeches and presentations at other international conferences. Prof. WU has one patent for an invention and five software patents.
