Introduction to Avionics: Microwave and RF Techniques and Applications, cartea 11

Autor R.P.G. Collinson
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 13 noi 2012
Introduction to Avionic Systems, Second Edition explains the principles and theory of modern avionic systems and how they are implemented with current technology for both civil and military aircraft. The systems are analysed mathematically, where appropriate, so that the design and performance can be understood. The book covers displays and man-machine interaction, aerodynamics and aircraft control, fly-by-wire flight control, inertial sensors and attitude derivation, navigation systems, air data and air data systems, autopilots and flight management systems, avionic systems integration and unmanned air vehicles.
About the Author. Dick Collinson has had "hands-on" experience of most of the systems covered in this book and, as Manager of the Flight Automation Research Laboratory of GEC-Marconi Avionics Ltd. (now part of BAE Systems Ltd.), led the avionics research activities for the company at Rochester, Kent for many years.
He was awarded the Silver Medal of the Royal Aeronautical Society in 1989 for his contribution to avionic systems research and development.

Recenzii

`Consequently it can be recommended to students of avionics and aeronautical engineering, as well as to practising avionics engineers, for whom it will provide an excellent tutorial and work of reference.'
Electronics and Communication Engineering Journal
`His [Dick Collinson's] rigorous treatment of topics which are difficult to extract from the literature and his insights into the systems design approach make this book a fresh and useful addition for engineers in industry and for university courses covering aeronautical systems engineering...an essential reference for designers, manufacturers, and operators of modern avionic equipment.'
Flyer
`...of particular importance to those graduates aspiring to become involved either in the design of avionic systems, or in the design of those classes of aircraft in which such systems form an integral part.'
Aerospace
`...this volume could prove to be a valuable reference on the bookshelf - particularly to those with a flair for sums.'
The Log
`...an excellent tutorial and work of reference on this important subject.'
Computing and Control Engineering Journal
`The publishers are to be congratulated on producing a well presented and illustrated text.'
