Notă biografică
Cecilia Asso (Pisa), PhD (1993) is an independent researcher in history. Her publications include Teoria e pratica della filologia neotestamentaria di Erasmo attraverso le controversie sul Novum Instrumentum (2016).
Jan Bloemendal, PhD (1979) is senior researcher at the Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands, and secretary to the Erasmi Opera Omnia. He is co-editor of Brill’s Encyclopaedia of the Neo-Latin World (2014).
Jean Céard, PhD (1975), is Professor emeritus of the Université de Paris Ouest-Nanterre-La Défense and specializes in literary and cultural history of the Renaissance period. His works include La Nature et les Prodiges: L’insolite au XVIe siècle (1977, reed. 1996), and editions or studies about Rabelais, Ronsard, Montaigne, J. Nider, Ambroise Paré, U. Aldrovandi, Pontus de Tyard, Boaistuau, Du Bartas, and Guy Lefèvre de la Boderie.
Charles Fantazzi is Professor emeritus of Classics and Italian at East Carolina University, specializing in Renaissance Latin literature, especially Erasmus and Vives, Italian Renaissance literature, and Virgil. He has also translated and edited several volumes in the Collected Works of Erasmus, and is co-editor of Brill’s Encyclopaedia of the Neo-Latin World (2014) and general editor of the Selected Works of Juan Luis Vives.
Johannes Trapman, PhD (1978), is Secretary General to the Conseil international pour l'édition des oeuvres complètes d'Erasme and is Professor emeritus of cultural history of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He publishes on the history of Dutch religion and on Erasmus, including Wijze dwaasheid: vijfhonderd jaar Lof der Zotheid in Nederland (2011).
