Jesse's Power

As a small child, Jesse never knows the safety and security that God intends for her to have. Forced to endure unthinkable horrors, she suffers in silence, afraid and unable to seek protection. But Jesse finds the courage and strength to become a survivor. By emotionally withdrawing from the physical and sexual abuse of her stepfather, she finds comfort and refuge within herself. In so doing, Jesse comes to understand that every child of God is precious, special, and pure.
