Jungian Psychology in the East and West: Cross-Cultural Perspectives from Japan
Editat de Konoyu Nakamura, Stefano Cartaen Limba Engleză Hardback – 30 iul 2021
Readers will discover that one interesting feature of this book is the realization of how much Western Jungians are implicitly or explicitly inspired by Eastern traditions – including Japanese – and, at the same time, how Jungian psychology – the product of a Western author – has been widely accepted and developed by Japanese scholars and clinicians.
Scholars and students of Jungian studies will find many new ideas, theories and practices gravitating around Jungian psychology, generated by the encounter between East and West. Another feature that will be appealing to many readers is that this book may represent an introduction to Japanese philosophy and clinical techniques related to Jungian psychology.

Recenzii
"In this rich compilation, Konoyu Nakamura and Stefano Carta bring together different minds mediated by different cultures to reflect in dialogue and intersectionality on the often dichotomous characterization between East and West. The fruit of this union amply shows how the individual and the collective constellate as a symbolic unity of humanity. This is arguably one of the most successful endeavors in advancing cross-cultural dialogue in Jungian studies."
- Prof. Jon Mills, Postgraduate Programs in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy, Adelphi University, USA; author of Jung and Philosophy.
"Two renowned Professors of Jungian Psychology: Professor Stefano Carta, University of Cagliari, Italy and Professor Konoyu Nakamura, University of Otemon Gakuin, Japan, have co-edited an innovative, sensitive and inspired exploration of East meets West, based on the papers presented at the International Association of Jungian Studies (IAJS) regional conference, held in Osaka, Japan, 2019. Through examining different individual and cultural forms, creative symbols and their historical specificity and efficacy are better understood and further cherished. This excellent, thought-provoking collection opens up new horizons to explore the East and West from cultural and clinical perspectives which cross fertilize, expand and stretch the boundaries ‘in between’ the two."
