Kathlyn Maguire, founder of nonprofit Empowerment Through Hearing, commissioned Natalie Garibian Peters to write "Listen Up!" in an effort to help teens understand the importance of hearing health and to educate the public about the widespread nature of this condition in all age groups. "Listen Up!" is a fun read that explores many dimensions of hearing. It explains why our very fast and loud world is taking a toll on how we hear things now and how we may hear them later. In "Listen Up!" you'll also meet Abby and Ben who face a lot of big decisions. As they juggle school, friends and growing up, they also find themselves living out their dreams, whether on a movie set or in a rock band. With secrets of their own, they come to realize that sometimes it's better to reach out than to be held back from who they are supposed to be.
