Recenzii

A rare treat! A book that offers many exciting and surprising insights into linking literature and the arts.
All the higher mental processes involve more than the simple awareness of facts; they depend also on the ability to conceive of what might be as well as what is, to construct mental images in new and original ways. Experiences in literature and the arts may well make a larger contribution to those abilities than studies usually assumed to develop abstract thinking.
This provocative and timely publication illustrates how children's books can be integrated into kindergarten through fifth grade art and music lessons, or vice-versa. The authors have done a masterful job. . . . [A] must for administrator's, curriculum specialist's, art teacher's or elementary teacher's reference shelf.
