Living Life

In "Living Life: Poems and Reflections," poet Robin Hosking considers the idea that all life is precious, regardless of its relative situation to us; because of this, it should never be easy to harm another life. She explains that there is a difference between wishing harm on someone and causing harm to them. Life enables each of us to be distinct and individual, to live our lives in a way that honors our past and paves the way for our future.

In "Living Life," Robin Hosking reminds us that we are all uniquely valuable and that being robbed of that uniqueness is intolerable. This world presents challenges to us every day; because we all live in this world though, we need to be more amicable to our fellow man. Love must begin with us.

I love you and provide for you with all that I have,
I nourish you with the food from my ground,
I hydrate you with my water,
From all of my lovely plants and trees, you are able to breathe.

I love it when you come out to visit with me, and admire my many scenes.
When you swim in my lakes and streams, I really enjoy your company, but you
are mistreating me. ..."
