This is the first monograph detailing the literary and theological reception of the old Judaeo-Christian Sayings Gospel Q in St. Luke's Gospel. As a documentation of the theology and history of early Judaeo-Christianity in the region of Galilee and Syria, it provides a unique access to the most ancient accounts of Jesus. The present account of the reception of Q in St. Luke's Gospel, highlights and assesses Luke's theology and its transference to its Hellenistic addressees. In contrast to present research trends, there is a clearer distancing of Luke from early Judaeo-Christianity.
