Notă biografică
Vojislav B. Mišić is a professor of computer science at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His research interests include performance evaluation of wireless networks and systems, including cognitive networks and sensor networks; and software engineering, including software metrics, metamodeling, and cloud computing. He has published around 60 journal papers and more than 130 conference papers in these areas, in addition to six books and nearly 20 book chapters. Prof. Mišić serves on editorial boards of IEEE Trans. Parallel and Distributed Systems, Elsevier Ad hoc Networks, Peer-to-Peer Networks and Applications journal, and Int. Journal on Parallel, Emergent Distributed Systems. He has guest-edited more than ten special issues of journals like EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking; Ad Hoc Networks; International Journal of Parallel, Emergent, and Distributed Systems; Ad Hoc & Sensor Wireless Networks; International Journal of Sensor Networks (IJSNet); and Computer Communications. He is a senior member of the IEEE, and member of ACM and AIS.
Jelena Mišić received her PhD in computer engineering from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, in 1993. She is currently a professor of computer science at the Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. Her current research interests include performance of wireless networks (including wireless sensor networks, cellular networks such as LTE, and wireless personal area networks), dynamic spectrum access and cognitive wireless networks, network security, and cloud computing. She has published over 80 journal papers and over 130 conference papers in these areas, and she has authored or co-authored two books and more than 20 book chapters as well. Her work has been supported by NSERC Strategic Grant, NSERC CRD grant, AUTO21, CFI New Opportunities grant, and other industrial and academic granting agencies. Prof. Mišić serves as associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (where she has received Top Editor of the Year awards in 2010 and 2011), Elsevier journals Communication Networks and Ad hoc Networks (where she has been awarded Editor of the Year award in 2009), Wiley Security and Communication Networks, Int. Recenzii
"The book offers a coherent collection of chapters developing the scientific study and analysis of cutting-edge topics in M2M networking, all written by scientists and researchers from several universities in different countries, also accompanied by experts from telecom companies. The book is organized in three parts, with 10 well-balanced chapters, providing a wide cross section of many topics related to M2M communications, such as architecture, standards, technologies, and applications. ... This book is built on a scientific structure with each chapter giving a relevant reference list of standards and research papers. Therefore, it can be recommended principally to scientists, researchers, and students. It will also serve as an introduction to the baseline concepts and technologies of M2M."
