Maintenance for Industrial Systems: Springer Series in Reliability Engineering
Autor Riccardo Manzini, Alberto Regattieri, Hoang Pham, Emilio Ferrarien Limba Engleză Paperback – 5 mai 2012
"Maintenance Engineering and its Applications in Production Systems" meets this need by introducing an original and integrated idea of maintenance: maintenance for productivity. The volume starts with the introduction and discussion of a new conceptual framework based on productivity, quality, and safety supported by maintenance. Subsequent chapters illustrate the most relevant models and methods to plan, organise, implement and control the whole maintenance process (reliability evaluation models and prediction, maintenance strategies and policies, spare parts management, computer maintenance management software – CMMS, and total productive maintenance – TPM, etc.). Several examples of problems supported by solutions, and real applications to help and test the reader’s comprehension are included.
"Maintenance Engineering and its Applications in Production Systems" will certainly be valuable to engineering students, doctoral and post-doctoral students and also to maintenance practitioners, as well as managers of industrial and service companies.

Recenzii
From the reviews:
"The title of this book is misnomer. This book is useful not only to maintenance engineers as is being claimed but to other engineers as well. In fact the reviewer feels that the title could have been as well a Handbook of System Dependability as the book covers not only system maintenance but also topics like quality management systems, statistical quality control, reliability, safety and risk assessment etc.... The book covers a wide area of modeling and is quite informative and as such the book should serve as a guide to the beginners or engineering students who would like to know various aspects of modeling for dependability in a compact form. The reviewer feels that the book can serve as good source of information on system dependability modeling." K.B. Misra, Editor-in-Chief, International Journal of Performability Engineering (May 2010) Vol. 6, No. 3

New, global and extended markets are forcing companies to process and manage increasingly different products with shorter life cycles, low volumes and reduced customer delivery times. In today’s global marketplace production systems need to deliver products on time, maintain market credibility, and introduce new products and services faster than competitors. As a result, a new production system paradigm has been developed and a supporting management decision-making approach, which simultaneously incorporates design, management, and control of the production system, is necessary in order for this challenge to be met effectively and efficiency.
Maintenance for Industrial Systems addresses this need by introducing an original and integrated idea of maintenance: maintenance for productivity. The volume starts with the introduction and discussion of a new conceptual framework based on productivity, quality, and safety supported by maintenance. Subsequent chapters illustrate the most relevant models and methods for planning, organising, implementing and controlling the whole maintenance process. Several examples of problems supported by solutions, and real applications to help and test the reader’s comprehension are included.
Maintenance for Industrial Systems is a valuable source of information for engineering students, doctoral and post-doctoral students, and also for maintenance practitioners and managers of industrial or service companies.
Springer Series in Reliability Engineering publishes high-quality books in important areas of current theoretical research and development in reliability, and in areas that bridge the gap between theory and application in areas of interest to practitioners in industry, laboratories, business, and government.
