Public țintă
The main market for the text will remain the UK, but the book draws on several authors from outside Britain (e.g. The Netherlands) to increase its international appeal as part of a more thorough internationalisation of the text.Universities are continuing to shift their education portfolios from undergraduate to higher value postgraduate degrees. This is encouraging the growth of specialist MSc programmes and HRM has been a beneficiary of this trend. For example, at King s the MSc in HRM was introduced in 2002 and has increased from an intake of 35–40 to an intake of around 100 in 2009/10. Many universities are establishing MSc programmes in HRM (e.g. Royal Holloway, Nottingham). This edition may also benefit from the trend evident in some universities back towards year–long in depth modules rather than term/semester based modules.
Notă biografică
Stephen Bach and Martin Edwards are from the HRM group in the department of management. King's College London, one of the largest concentrations of HRM specialists in the UK, which has in a relatively short-time become one of the leading centres of HRM research.
