When Max grows up he doesn't want to be an astronaut or a hockey player--he wants to be a superhero, to help sick and poor people like his idol, the Flying Avenger. But no one, especially grown ups, takes superheroes seriously.
When Max's father loses his job, however, he learns what it is to be poor first-hand. He also learns that even the least super people have their heroic moments.
