Europe is trying to streamline its policy on the integration of immigrants and ethnic minorities. The information available on integration in the different countries is still very variable in its extent and quality. In this report, authors from sixteen European countries describe how integration is approached in their country, what the integration objectives of their government are, where the problems lie, and what the implications of this are for monitoring the process of integration over time in their country.  Europe is trying to streamline its policy on the integration of immigrants and ethnic minorities. Notă biografică

Rob Bijl is the vice-director of the Netherlands Instititute for Social Research/SCP.


Arjen Verweij is a sociologic economist. For almost fifteen years, he conducted research at the department of economics of the Erasmus University Rotterdam and published on identification and classification of ethnic minorities, their integration in the Netherlands, on quality of place and on the methodology of applied social research (monitoring). Currently, he is a research advisor at the Ministry of the Interior on the topics of housing, integration, neighborhoods, and communities.
