Mark Jr., a hard-working, single man and the new lawman in town, is suddenly propelled into a murder investigation of a young woman known to be a lady of the night. No one knows who she is, and now Mark must determine who killed her and why. Haunted by nightmares that nearly drive him insane, Mark begins questioning the town's residents and slowly assembles a mysterious puzzle-one agonizing piece at a time. But then another mangled body is discovered, and Mark suddenly realizes the dead woman is the same one who came to him in an earlier dream.
