Metal Matrix Composites

Autor J. Paulo Davim
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 30 apr 2011
Recently, the utilisation of metal matrix composites (MMC's) has increased in various areas of industry due to their special mechanical and physical properties. MMC's, particularly aluminium based composites have a high specific strength and stiffness at elevated temperatures as well as fatigue, corrosion and wear resistance. Therefore MMC's have the potential to replace conventional materials in various fields of application such as automotive, aeronautical and aerospace, as well as in others advanced industries because of is own properties. This book reviews current research on metal matrix composites.
