MIS Techniques in Orthopedics

Editat de Giles R. Scuderi, Alfred J. Tria, Richard A. Berger
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 25 aug 2005
Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is changing the way orthopedic surgery is practiced and is now considered state-of-the-art. There are rapid advances in the surgical techniques with the introduction of n- igation and robotics, which assist the surgeon in performing the p- cedure with limited visualization. This edition of MIS Techniques in Orthopedics elaborates on current techniques for the hip and knee, and also introduces the most recent sections on the upper extremity and computer navigation. The contributing authors are experts in the ?eld and share with the reader their experiences and surgical pearls. Keeping pace with new techniques and technologies in orthopedic surgery can be very demanding; our hope is that surgeons will ?nd this text a useful reference as they embark upon minimally invasive surgery. Recenzii

From the reviews:
"Springer has released this book, MIS Techniques in Orthopedics, edited by three renowned surgeons in the field, in an attempt to introduce, summarize and evaluate the MIS technique. … MIS is a hot–and controversial–subject today, and books on this technique are … certainly welcome. … This book will be useful … to experienced surgeons who want to embark upon minimally invasive surgery." (Tord Röstlund, Acta Orthopaedica, Vol. 77 (4), 2006)

Textul de pe ultima copertă

This technique-based text is geared for the orthopedic surgeon who is familiar with the features of MIS and now wants to master the approach. Cutting-edge approaches are detailed throughout, and one section is specifically devoted to computer navigation. The wealth of insight is supplemented by more than 390 line drawings and photographs that illustrate how techniques are performed. An indispensable resource for orthopedic surgeons, residents, and fellows, this unparalleled guide is ideal for readers who want to confidently learn and apply MIS techniques.

Caracteristici

This text has no current competition and is designed to set the standard for future works Although the book has value as a stand-alone reference, it also complements Drs. Scuderi and Tria’s MIS of the Hip and Knee: A Clinical Perspective MIS of the Hip and Knee introduces orthopedic MIS, and this follow-up text enables surgeons to master the approach
