Recenzii
"This vital book is fundamental to anyone learning how to coach. It draws on 40+ years of science and practice in MI to clearly demonstrate how critical MI is to skillful health coaching. The book presents step-by-step guidance in health coaching and plainly shows how MI is inextricably woven throughout. The authors show how coaches can authentically engage and guide individuals to create a path toward a healthier self by evoking intrinsic motivation, supporting client autonomy, and cultivating sustainable growth toward transformational change. This book is brimming with useful tips, pragmatic examples, and practical applications of how to use MI in coaching."--Ruth Q. Wolever, PhD, NBC-HWC, Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Vanderbilt University Medical Center; Chair of Certification and Inaugural President, National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC); member, Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)
"This book is essential reading for coaches who seek the latest evidence-based findings on MI, the profoundly respectful and empowering approach to guiding healthful behavior change. Congratulations to the authors, who expertly connect the dots between MI and the competency standards in coaching from NBHWC and ICF.”--Meg Jordan, PhD, RN, NBC-HWC, Professor, Integrative Health, California Institute of Integral Studies
"After years of providing MI workshops for clinicians--and regularly referencing MI in coach training--it is delightful to find a new treasure! I highly recommend this book for coaches, coach trainees, and instructors. It supports and clarifies the coaching process and will assist in mentor coaching. Session excerpts beautifully illustrate coaching with an MI style. Bravo!"--Renee Sievert, RN, LMFT, PCC, leadership coach and member, Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)
"As a high-performance psychologist coaching people in business, performing arts, and professional sports, I am always looking for books to recommend to colleagues seeking to 'up their game' in coaching. This great book does it all--it not only lays the theoretical foundation, but also outlines practical tools to help readers apply what they are learning. This is a fantastic resource for anyone in health and wellness coaching or life coaching who wants to understand and apply the power of MI in their important work with clients. Bravo!"--Jonathan Fader, PhD, sport and performance psychologist, New York City; member, Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)
