Descriere
Nature Displayed brings together in a single, illustrated volume the key writings by one of the leading figures in cultural history. Professor Jordanova examines and reinterprets texts and images from the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, and, in the process, sheds light on contemporary attitudes to femininity and masculinity, child-rearing, health and hygiene and knowledge of nature. The book includes some of the author's most controversial and pioneering work. All previously published pieces have been revised and much of the material is published here for the first time.
