Notă biografică
Dr Valentino Sangiorgio is a post-doctoral researcher in Building Engineering. His research deals with the challenge of the “Digital Transition” in building construction. This research involves a high level of interdisciplinary collaboration due to the need to reconcile classical building engineering concepts with novel technologies and performance analysis approaches. Current research studies include: i) Climate change and extreme weather event influencing construction (Multi Risk Analysis); ii) Application of novel technologies in construction (e.g. Augmented Reality and User Reporting).
Professor Luis G. Vargas is Full Professor of Operations, Decision Science, and Artificial Intelligence Director of the International Center for Conflict Resolution. He has focused his research on decision theory, practical applications of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), measurement of resource utilization, group decision making, forecasting, and conflict resolution.
Professor Fabio Fatiguso is Full Professor in “Architectural Engineering” and "Building refurbishment and requalification" at Department DICATECh of the Polytechnic University of Bari. He is Scientific Responsible of the Laboratory of Building Technologies and President and Founder Member of academic spin-off company “B.Re.D. Building Refurbishment and Diagnostics s.r.l.”. His research and scientific activity relates to building refurbishment and maintenance, with particular reference to material, technological and functional aspects, as well as to techniques and technologies for diagnostics and control. Most recently, new research lines are related to the development of immersive VR/AR environments and HBIM approaches for multilevel assessment and diagnosis of building characteristics and pathologies.
Professor Francesco Fiorito is Associate Professor of Architectural Engineering at Polytechnic University of Bari (Italy) and Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales (Australia). His main research expertise is in facade engineering and design. In recent years his research has focused on the development of technologies and systems for adaptive facades, which actively respond to variable outdoor conditions, mitigating Urban Heat Island effects and improving indoor comfort.

Textul de pe ultima copertă
This book is focused on the challenges of digital transition in building construction, and potential solutions through the use of multi-criteria analysis. It provides clear explanations of proposed approaches from both a theoretical and practical point of view, including augmented reality and user-reporting.New Approaches for Multi-Criteria Analysis in Constructions begins by explaining classic multi-criteria analysis methods, such as Analytic Hierarchy Processes and the Simos-Roy-Figueira method, before moving on to discuss Augmented Reality - Decision Making. This new approach provides a tool to investigate user’s perceptions, and utilises an interactive experience of the real-world environment combined with classic methods to provide a large amount of visual information. Finally, a detailed guide to user-reporting is presented.
Offering new possibilities for applying multi-criteria analysis in a simpler, faster and more accessible way, this book supportsanalysis which considers users experience and perception. Architects, engineers, researchers and practitioners will be able to utilise augmented reality environments, multi-criteria analysis and user reporting for the building design choices, supply selection, maintenance strategies, risk and complex performance assessment.
