In 1642, the English Civil War broke loss and Cromwell, several times, defeated the King's men. After which, he was promoted to Lieutenant-General.
The civil war saw the rise of the Parliament Army. This force defeated the King and his supporters, the Royalists. Cromwell consolidated this armed force and created the New Model Army. After the execution of Charles I and monarchical power, Cromwell was propelled to power and named the first chairman of the new Council of State. In 1653, Cromwell was named Lord Protector of the British Republic. This office gave him full power.
This manuscript explores in great detail the life of Oliver Cromwell, the fruits of his labour, and the impact he had on English affairs.
