Steven Flannes, Ph.D., is an expert in the interpersonal aspects of leadership, due to his unique career as a clinical psychologist and an operations leader. He has described sophisticated and practical interpersonal skills and approaches required for leadership success for next-generation leaders. He presents his ideas in professional settings and publications. His current book, People Skills 3.0: Next-Generation Leadership Skills for Project Success is designed for leaders who need the interpersonal skills to thrive in a world of complexity and multicultural collaboration. Steve is the co-author of Essential People Skills for Project Managers (2005), translated into Japanese, and People Skills for Project Managers (2000), translated into Russian. Additionally, Steve has authored chapters on the interpersonal aspects of leadership that have appeared in books and journals published in India and the United Kingdom. Steve brings a global perspective to his work, presenting seminars in the United States and Canada, as well as the United Kingdom, Poland, and Ukraine. For over 10 years, he has been a seminar leader for the Project Management Institute (PMI). He has also been a keynote speaker for SAS's annual users' conferences, in Canada and the United States. He also applies his expertise on the interpersonal skills of leadership in his consulting work with organizations such Amdocs, Stanford University, Verisign, HSBC Bank, Center for Translational Research, Hexcel Corporation, Kaiser Permanente Health Plan, Wells Fargo Bank, and Spider Technologies (Ukraine). His academic experience includes teaching at the University of Notre Dame, the University of California-Berkeley, and the University of the Pacific.
