Percolation, Scaling, and Relaxation in Polymer Dielectrics

Autor Maheswar Panda
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 31 mar 2023
This book provides a foundational understanding of polymer dielectrics based on percolative composites. It covers the microstructure and physical properties, such as dielectric, electrical, magnetic, and rheological properties, of polymer composites, as well as how these properties can be explained using various theoretical models and spectroscopy techniques, such as dielectric spectroscopy, impedance spectroscopy, and conductivity spectroscopy. The book also discusses non-percolative polymer composites and the suitability of polymer dielectrics for electrical energy storage in various devices. It is intended for graduate students and professionals in fields such as condensed matter physics, applied physics, statistical physics, materials science, polymer science and technology, chemistry, and engineering. It will be particularly useful for physicists, materials scientists, polymer scientists, chemists, engineers, and others interested in the physics and applications of percolativecomposites based on polymer matrix.

Notă biografică

Dr. Maheswar Panda holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India, which he obtained in 2011. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Physics at Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, a Central University in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, India. Prior to this position, he has worked as an Assistant Professor of Physics at Central University of Rajasthan, Central University of Jharkhand, and National Institute of Technology Raipur. He is well-respected among students for his unique and effective teaching style. He is a member of both the Indian Association of Physics Teachers and the Indian Physics Association. His research interests include percolative composites, energy storage materials, phase transitions, dielectrics, ferroelectrics, multiferroics, magneto-electrics, magneto-dielectrics, EMI shielding, visco-elastic properties, and more. He has published over 30 journal articles, including 7 single-author articles, and has received two patents (onein India and one in Germany). He has also contributed a chapter to a book. In 2019, he was awarded the INSA Visiting Scientist Fellowship and the Young Achiever Award at ICC-2017 in Bikaner, India. He has served as the Principal Investigator on two projects focusing on the development of polymer dielectrics, funded by SERB (DST) and UGC in New Delhi. He has also supervised 24  M.Sc.
