Autor Ann Florence Dodd
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 28 iul 2022
Percy is a proud plastic bag and wants to work hard, and he loves to carry things for people. After leaving the Feed Me Supermarket, Percy is happy to be heading out to have a life of usefulness. Unfortunately, things don't work out quite the way he thought they would. After Percy helped carry some cupcakes to the fete at the village green, things take a terrible turn for the worse, and Percy finds himself in all sorts of trouble. Plastic pollution is having a serious effect on our environment and wildlife. This story is about the travels of some plastic characters who find themselves going from being useful to no longer needed and getting themselves into all sorts of difficulties. It is both funny and sad and is written in a way to highlight awareness to single-use plastic. Have you ever wondered what really happens to some plastic after it is used and no longer needed? Where does it go and how does it get there? Through the eyes of the plastic characters and their humorous and tragic adventure, it is hoped in a fun way, to bring a greater understanding to children about the responsibility we have to protect our world against plastic waste.

Notă biografică

As a children's author, Ann Florence Dodd wants to use her storytelling to highlight subjects such as environmental issues, but not written as a serious subject as such, but rather in a form of a fun adventure. Ann wants to bring a sense of responsibility to children with her writing. By using humour and entertainment, she hopes it will help children have a greater understanding of the importance of protecting their world, both now and in the future. She was born in Birmingham, England, and lived there until her mid-twenties. Then she moved back to her father's home island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, along with her family to help run their family hotel. Ann has worked as a prison officer, and a childcare officer in a children's home. Both these occupations have taught Ann much about human resilience and has been part of her motivation to write. Animal welfare and the environment have always been a huge part of Ann's life. After moving to Cyprus six years ago, she has worked and volunteered for some animal charities who care for a variety of neglected animals in Cyprus. Ann's first book Birdie is about an isolated caged bird. This book was written from her experiences of caring for vulnerable children and animals. Her wish is that her work brings joy into some children's lives and a better understanding of certain aspects of life.
