Notă biografică

Sankarsan Mohapatro was born in Cuttack, India, in 1983. He received the B.E. degree from the National Institute of Science and Technology, Berhampur, India, in 2005, and the M.Sc. (Eng.) and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangaluru, India, in 2008 and 2011, respectively. He joined the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar in 2008, where he is currently Associate Professor with the School of Electrical Sciences. He holds various administrative positions at the institute. His master’s thesis received National Award. He is the recipient of Young Scientist Award, Odisha Bigyan Academy, India.  His current research interests include the applications of high voltage to air pollution control, high voltage modular power supply, DC microgrid and renewable energy.
 
Jonathan W. Kimball received the B.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, in 1994, and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, IL, USA, in 1996 and 2007, respectively. From 1996 to 1998, he worked with Motorola, Phoenix, AZ, designing IGBT modules for industrial applications. He then joined Baldor Electric, Fort Smith, AR, USA, where he designed industrial adjustable speed drives. In 2003, he co-founded SmartSpark Energy Systems, Inc., Champaign, IL, USA, and served as Vice President of Engineering. He joined the faculty of Missouri S&T, Rolla, MO, USA, in 2008, where he is currently Professor with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. From 2016 to 2018, he was also Dean's Scholar with the College of Engineering and Computing. His research interests include microgrids, switched-capacitor converters and cyber-physical systems. He was General Chair of the IEEE APEC Conference in 2017 and continues to serve on its steering committee.
