This book addresses to the materials scientists, physicists, chemists, biologists, and electrical engineers engaged in fundamental and applied research or technical investigations on such materials. The goal of the International Symposium on Dielectric Materials and Applications conference series is to provide an innovative platform for key researchers, scientists from all over the world to exchange ideas and to hold wide ranging discussions on recent developments in dielectric materials and their new and emerging applications. The aim of ISyDMA meeting is to provide an international forum for the discussion of current research on high k-dielectric, electrical insulation, dielectric phenomena, and topics related to emerging applications.

Notă biografică

VASEASHTA Ashok is CEO/CTO and Executive Director for research with the International Clean Water Institute in Virginia, USA. He also serves in several honorary positions, such as a Professor at the Transylvania University of Brasov; Chaired Professor of Nanotechnology at the Ghitu Institute of Electrical Engineering and Nanotechnologies, Academy of Sciences of Moldova; Academician at Euro-Mediterranean Academy of Arts and Sciences, member of the International Center for Transdisciplinary Research (CIRET), and Senior Strategic Research Advisor for several organizations. Inspired by nature and guided by societal necessities, he strives for technological innovations to address the global challenges of the 21st century. His research interests include critical infrastructure safety, security, and environmental sustainability - all using nexus of advanced technological solution platforms. He is a scholar, visionary, strategist, and dedicated futurist providing strategic leadership to promote and advance research initiatives and priorities using data-driven decisions. He received Ph.D. from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA in 1990 followed by Kobe post-doctoral fellowship. Following his Ph.D., he served as a professor and researcher at Virginia Tech and Marshall University. He also served as the Director of Research at the Institute for Advanced Sciences Convergence and International Clean Water Institute for Norwich University Applied Research Institutes, Vice-Provost (Rector) for Research in South Carolina, and Executive Director and Chair of Institutional Review Board at a State University in New Jersey. His earlier honorary positions included a Visiting Professor at the Riga Technical University, Latvia, 3 Nano-SAE Research Centre, University of Bucharest, Romania and Visiting Scientist at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. He served the U.S. Department of State in two rotations, as a strategic S&T advisorin the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, Office of Weapons of Mass Destruction and Terrorism, and U.S. diplomat.  His research interests span foresight, nanotechnology, environmental/ecological science, and critical infrastructure safety and security. He is the author/editor of 12 books and has published over 300 articles in scientific journals, book chapters, and conferences. He serves on editorial boards of several international journals and is an active member of various professional organizations.
ACHOUR Mohammed Essaid received his “Thèse de 3ème cycle" from The Bordeaux University (France) and “Thèse d’état” from the Moulay Ismail University of  Meknes (Morocco) degrees in field of Physics in 1983 and 1991, respectively.  From 1983 to 1992, he was an “Maitre assistant,” at Sciences Faculty of Meknes (Morocco), “Maitre de Conférence” (1992-1996),  and Professor. He joined the Sciences Faculty at Kenitra  in 1999. From 1997to 2011, he was also teacher with Royal Military Academy at Meknes. He is an expert evaluator, member of the scientific committee of the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST), the Moroccan Center for Innovation (CIM), and he is the chair and founder member of Moroccan Association of the Advanced Materials (A2MA). He is an honorary guest professor at Brest University in France and visiting scientist/researcher at different universities and research Centers in France, Canada,  Portugal, Hungary, Italy, and Tunisia.  His research interests include electromagnetic and electrical properties, microwave characterization and dielectric responses of the composite materials: carbon dots, graphene, carbon nanotubes, carbon black, and natural fibers in the natural or synthetic polymers, and experience, modeling, and numerical simulations.  Pr. ACHOUR M.E.  has co-authored peer-review more than 65 scientific papers published in leading refereed journals, about  100 congress communications, 2 book chapters, and 6 guest editorials. He participated in 12 cooperation projects.  He was the chairs of the First International Symposium on Dielectric Materials and Applications “ISyDMA’2016” (Kenitra-Rabat, Morocco May 4-6, 2016),   the Fourth Meeting On Dielectric Materials “IMDM’4” (Marrakech, Morocco May 29-31, 2013) , and the Co-Chair  of the  International Symposium on the Advanced Materials for Optics Micro-Electronics and Nanoelectronics “AMOMEN'2011.” 
MABROUKI Mustapha is actually Permanent Professor in Sultan Moulay Slimane University. He obtained a doctorate 3rd cycle graduate and state thesis (Thèse d’Etat) from Cadi Ayyad University in 2004.  Followed by Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Miami (USA) with Doctor Roger M. LEBLANC in Supramolecular Research Center, he is a professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies Beni Mellal since 1994 and the headand member of the Industrial Engineering Laboratory (LGI). His field of interest is the organic and inorganic materials applied in electronic and optoelectronic areas.  His actual work is to understand how the surface is involved in biological adhesion. Professor Mabrouki co-authors more than seventy articles and a hundred papers in national and international conferences. He has participated in several scientific events (conferences, workshops, and meetings) as chairman.  He was the chairs of the Third International Symposium on Dielectric Materials and Applications “ISyDMA’2018” (Beni Mellal, Morocco April 17-19, 2018), member or as an organizer. He was also the source of several cooperation projects at national level and international level. He is also a member of many Scientifics associations like European Physical Society (EPS),   Moroccan society of Applied Physics (FSSM) Marrakech, and active member in Moroccan society of nanotechnology (MANAT). 
FASQUELLE Didier  is Professor in the Unit of Dynamic and Structure of Molecular Materials (UDSMM) at the University of Littoral Côte d’Opale (ULCO). He is the head of the research group Functional Materials and Oxides for Applications, and the head of the master degree Electronic and Instrumentation. Didier completed his PhD at ULCO in 2003 and his state doctorate – Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches HDR – in 2012. His research interests lie in the area of lead-free oxides elaborated by different techniques, sol-gel, spin-coating, dip-coating, sputtering, and screen-printing. He has developed many experiments for dielectric, piezoelectric, pyroelectric, and ferroelectric characterizations. His studies and works have been dedicated to applications such as gas sensors, tunable devices, solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC), electrical energy storage (EES), and energy harvesting. He has actively collaborated with researchers in other disciplines such as materials sciences, solid-state sciences, inorganic chemistry, and computer sciences, in the framework of national and international programs. Indeed, he has developed collaborations with researchers from Portugal, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Russia, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, and Indonesia. He has been granted for regional, national, and international projects from Foreign Affair Ministry, ANR, FEDER. Prof D. Fasquelle has co-authored around 200 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and international communications. For his private activities, Didier is a scuba diving instructor. So he enjoys to dive all over the world. During his free-time, he also likes to read books related to different subjects and cultures. He enjoys to practice non-violent communication. 
TACHAFINE Amina  is Associate Professor at the Littoral-Côte d’Opale University in Calais, France. She obtained her engineering degree in electronics at the Polytech'Lille School in 1989 and her PhD in electronics from the Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology Institute, University of Lille, France, in 1994. She is currently part of the dynamics and structure of molecular materials unit. She is interested in lead-free ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials for electronic applications. Her research activities concern frequency-tunable systems for radiofrequency and microwave applications, energy harvesting and storage devices for powering autonomous systems and new Aurivillius materials for information storage. She co-authored some thirty articles and made around forty oral communications in national and international conferences. She has also been in charge of European and international research projects.
