Notă biografică

Juan E. Mezzich MD, PhD, is current president of the World Psychiatric Association. He is professor of psychiatry and director, division of Psychiatric Epidemiology and International Center for Mental Health, at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York University. He has held professorships at Stanford and the University of Pittsburgh. He has been a leader in the development of the DSM. He has authored or coauthored over 200 scientific journal articles and book chapters (including current sections on international diagnosis and psychiatric epidemiology). Ruben Hernandez, MD is professor of forensic psychiatry at the Central University of Venezuela. He is a leader in sexual health (formerly called sexology) throughout Latin America having served as president of many professional organizations including, among many others, the Venezuelan Society of Medical Sexology and the International Academy of Sexology.
