Notă biografică

Aysha Akter (b. 1978) is a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and currently holding the Departmental Head position of Water Resources Engineering at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Bangladesh. Prof. Aysha completed a BSc in Civil Engineering degree from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh in 2000. Following this in 2003, she obtained an MEng degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) while she was also working for LGED. Thereafter she went to the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand for another MEng degree in Water Resource Engineering and Management, and graduated in 2005. She achieved a prestigious Ph.D. degree in Civil and offshore Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, the United Kingdom in 2011 with the support of a competitive James-Watt Scholarship. As recognition of her excellent research in ‘rainwater harvesting’, she was awarded the prestigious University Grants Commission (UGC) Award 2015. She has more than 70 publications in ISI indexed journals and national and international conferences.
