Jianfang ZHANG, an engineer. He was in charge of 3 large and medium-sized projects and participated in 4 projects during his work at regional geological and mineral survey in the north of Zhejiang Province, which are founded by China Geological Survey and Department of Land and Resources of Zhejiang Province. He led a team work on the Paleozoic multiple stratigraphic division, Mesozoic magmatic rocks and mineralization. Moreover, he creats a new way for geological maps expressing and achieved remarkable results and good social benefits. The Project “1:50000 Regional Geological Survey in Hanggai,Xianxia and Chuancun, Zhejiang Province” was evaluated as one of the top ten excellent geological work in "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" in Zhejiang Province.
Chaohui Zhu, a senior engineer. He has long been engaged in regional geological and mineral surveys and project management research. He has high attainments in the study of the genesis of Mesozoic volcanic rocks in SouthChina, innovation in technical method for geological survey, project management. Moreover, he promoted the investigation and research of Mesozoic volcanic rocks in Zhejiang.
Longwu Wang, Professor-level senior engineer. He has long been engaged in regional geological survey, mineral exploration, and the quality management of geological project. He has deep theoretical understanding and high reputation in multiple stratigraphic divisions and made great contributions to strata study in Zhejiang.
Xiaoliang Cai, an engineer. He has long been engaged in regional geological survey, mineral exploration, and geochemical surveys. In recent years, with the development of digital technology in geological Survey, he completed a number of geological maps, mineral geological maps and geochemical maps, and contributed to the standardization of geological data.
Ruijun Gong, an engineer. She has long been engaged in soil geochemical investigation and regional stream sediment geochemical survey.
Xiaoyou Chen, a senior engineer, has long been engaged in the regional geological survey and mineral geological investigation in the Mesozoic volcanic rocks in South China.
Jianguo Wang, a senior engineer, has long been engaged in geological mapping in the Zhejiang orogenic belt. He and his team compiled the first 1:50000 scale geological map in Zhejiang, reflecting the geological theory of the ocean plate, and it has a good demonstration effect on the mapping the block of oceanic plate in the orogenic belt. He reconstructed the geotectonic framework of the Jiangshan-Shaoxing conjunction zone and made significant contributions to the research of geological structure in South China.

This Open Access book introduces readers to the regional geology of Hanggai, Xianxia and Chuancun, the area between China's northern Zhejiang Province and southern Anhui Province and explores the strata, magmatic rocks and tectonic structures in 1:50,000 scale geological maps. Based on studies of multiple stratigraphic divisions, the standard stratigraphic section of the upper Ordovician Hirnantian in the lower Yangtze region is established, revealing for the first time numerous “Burgess Shale-type” sponge fossils in Hirnantian strata and identifying 10 grapholite fossil belts and various fossil categories, including chitin, trilobites, gastropods, brachiopods, and cephalopods. Moreover, the book identifies for the first time Late Ordovician volcanic events in northern Zhejiang province.
