This title was first published in 2000: John Braithwaite is a distinguished criminologist with an international reputation in the study of regulation and globalization. This collection contains his most important and influential essays in criminal justice and business regulation. It has a substantial introduction explaining the thematization of his work around the design of regulatory systems to maximize freedoms as non-domination.
Notă biografică
John Braithwaite is a Professor in the Research School o f Social Sciences, Australian National University. He has been Head o f Law there and coordinated interdisciplinary netw orks- Reshaping Australian Institutions (1992- 96) and the Regulatory Institutions Network (RegNet). He has been active in social movement politics, representing community groups on the Economic Planning Advisory Council Chaired by the Prime Minister o f Australia between 1983- 87. Between 1985 and 1995 he was a part-time Commissioner with the Trade Practices Commission.
