Recenzii

"So far it has been a lengthy and time-consuming [process] to get relevant and current information on several aspects of self-injury in adolescents. Apart from different self-help manuals and personal stories, only a few books have tried to cover the topic from a scientific point of view. This book takes the next step. It implements the knowledge collected from current scientific work into clinical practice. Not only does this book cover the broadest range of topics ever published in one book on self-injury, the chapters are written by today's leading researchers as an extra value. Reading through the authors list is like reading the 'Who's Who' of today's self-harm specialists."
- Paul L. Plener, M.D., Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, University Hospital of Ulm, Germany
"Dr. Nixon and Heath provide a timely resource for professional and academics who are struggling to understand and intervene with youth who self-injure. This book expands current understandings of self-injurious behaviors and offers sound guidelines for effect assessment, intervention, and prevention of self-injury. The comprehensive content, clinical examples, and explicit resources provided make this book an essential tool for anyone who comes into contact with youth who self-injure. Mental health professional, family members, school personnel and academics will all benefit from this text."
- Jennifer Muehlenkamp, Ph.D., Department of Psychology, University of North Dakota
