Victor Tanasa a dat nota:
DNF @61%, should have quit sooner. After a good start, it got really boring - the plot was unengaging, the characters mostly generic and I found myself not caring what happens next. A big pet peeve of mine are space battles described as naval / submarine warfare. I find it lazy, unimaginative and unrealistic, and they were also filled with jargon that made them a chore to read. Some things don't make a lot of sense to me, like a battlecruiser with a mini black hole as a power source, that's also operated by switches and dials. There's also a scene where a competent spy has a safe that's protected by a DNA lock, only to leave her glove next to it, thus rendering the security measure useless. There are a lot of little things that slowly erode any sense of cohesion in Stross's universe. Lots of better books out there.
