Roger, Blue Knight's alternate identity, finds his New York City visit more interesting than expected. He is in the City when Azzam from Amman, Jordan, finally succeeds in his twenty-year search for a jinni in a lamp. The arrival of the powerful marid, Kadar, makes life more interesting for everyone on Manhattan Island ... and nervous, as well. Kadar's puzzling presence and difficult demands are a new challenge for Superhero. He is an adversary with whom Roger/Blue Knight hopes he can have more success than he did with The Artiste. He is grateful not to be alone. Myra, fellow roomer in Chicago, is on the trip with him. In fact, if it were not for Myra, Roger would not be in New York at all at the time of Azzam's discovery. Roger tried to hide his envy when Myra revealed the invitation she received from her friend, Julie. Roger was delighted when Myra told him he could join her if he wished. Going to New York was the fulfillment of long held dreams ... second only to his dreams of knights of old.
