Professor Ir. Dr. Dominic Foo is a Professor of Process Design and Integration at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, and is the Founding Director for the Centre of Excellence for Green Technologies. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Engineering Council UK, Professional Engineer (PEng) with the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM), ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers (ACPE), as well as the President for the Asia Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering (APCChE). He is top 1% world-renowned scientist of the Stanford List. He collaborates with more than 50 research scholars and industrial practitioners over Asia, Europe, North America and Africa. Professor Foo is an active author, with eight books, more than 200 journal papers and made more than 240 conference presentations, with more than 30 keynote/plenary speeches. He served as International Scientific Committees for many important international conferences (CHISA/PRES, FOCAPD, ESCAPE, PSE, SDEWES, etc.). Professor Foo is the Editor-in-Chief for Process Integration and Optimization for Sustainability (Springer Nature), Subject Editor for Process Safety & Environmental Protection (Elsevier), and editorial board members for several other renowned journals. He is the winners of the IChemE’s Innovator of the Year Award 2009, IEM’s Young Engineer Award 2010, Outstanding Young Malaysian Award 2012, Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer 2013, and ASM’s Top Research Scientist Malaysia 2016.
Mustafa Kamal Abdul Aziz was the Founding Director of the Centre of Lipid Engineering and Applied Research (CLEAR), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Upon his retirement from UTM, he was appointed as Honourary Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. Mustafa works closely with industrial partners and government agencies, e.g. Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) and Board (MPOB) on various palm oil-based research projects, which include bioenergy, biofuels, biomaterial processing and process plant economics. He holds the patent for a green printing ink from palm olein for paper and packaging. In addition, he is a Visiting Professor at University Malaysia Pahang and the University of Tokyo Agricultural & Technology, Japan. He is also an active committee member for various international and national conferences.
Dr Suzana Yusup, is the Head of Section under Fuel and Combustion Unit, Department of Generation and Environmental, Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) Research, Malaysia. Prior to joining TNB Research, she was a Professor in Chemical Engineering Department, and leading the Center of Biofuel and Biochemical at Universiti Technology PETRONAS, i.e. a Higher Center of Excellence of the Ministry of Education. Her research interest is in the area of biomass conversion to fuel and biochemicals, material development and green processes. Professor Dr Suzana Yusup has authored one book, 16 book chapters, more than 200 articles in high impact factor journals and conference papers, 16 patents and 3 granted patents. Among her important awards won are Malaysia’s Research Star Award (2017), Malaysia’s Rising Star Award (2016). 2nd prize in the Elsevier Green and Sustainable Chemistry Challenge (2016), Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM) (2016), Asia Research Award (2012) from The Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan (SCEJ), and Creativity Award, Geneva (2011).
