Recenzii
"Author and architect Elizabeth Lewis, AIA, has tackled a subject and the accompanying terminology that are at once extensive and intimidating. However, Lewis has produced a text that is informative without being preachy or judgmental. Although sustainable design is implicit in both her writing and the architectural examples she references, her text never suggests that 'this is the only way to do things.' Rather she has produced a compendium that provides readers with a combination of technical definitions, practical suggestions and lots of data from multiple sources. Although the text functions as a dictionary, it reads like a story of what has been done to the environment and where we must go from here ... The book is the most current, and perhaps only, guide to the sustainable design strategies, terms and practices needed for the current and next generation of professionals who will be designing for a carbon-neutral world." - Diane D. Greer, Ed. Ret., AIA Florida Caribbean Journal Spring 2018
"Sustainaspeak recognizes that the world we inhabit is in a state of rapid change. We have seen tremendous changes in industrialization, technology, population, urbanization, and materialization in the last century, primarily by the combustion and availability of fossil fuels. Lewis explains in a straightforward manner with over 200 strategies and concepts, what is needed to reduce these negative environmental, health and social impacts. The book is geared to those with both a knowledge of sustainable design, as a refresher reinforcing the interrelationships of ideas, as well as anyone with a newfound interest in sustainability and with a spirit of hope for a brighter future." - Carly Rixham, Solar Today 2018
