Notă biografică
Romain Butin immigrated to the United States from France in 1890 and entered the Society of Mary. He received his degree from the Catholic University of America and was appointed Professor of Hebrew and Sacred Scripture at Marist College. Butin studied Hebrew, Aramaic, and post-Biblical Jewish literature under Henri Hyvernat, who later became his colleague when Butin took a teaching post at the Catholic University of America.
