Dr James Ulrich has been out of prison for just on a year. He has been reunited with June, his wife of 28 years and life is pretty good. A chance phone call from his old nemesis, Al Hancock, reveals the existence of an invaluable gold nugget that has been kept concealed in the cellar of a waterfront mansion in Sydney Harbour for over a century. Al plans to steal it and blackmails James into joining him in the venture. The aftermath of the theft leads James on a frenzied trail of retribution, kidnapping, bloodshed and murder as he desperately tries to escape the evil tentacles of Al Hancock. The trail takes him to Fiji and then to a lonely Pacific island where he finally comes face-to-face with the grim reaper.
