Charles F. Keyes, professor and chairman of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Washington, Seattle, has conducted research in Thailand over the past twenty years. He is the author or editor of numerous publications, including The Golden Peninsula: Culture and Adaptation in Mainland Southeast Asia.
