Six months after the event of Volume One (The Flight of the Hummingbird), Hayworth, Friday and the rest of the crew of the HMS Hummingbird are still on the run. They have thrown in with Samantha Von Taeliac's air pirate fleet, and are fitting in... mostly. Hayworth soon discovers that information related to the mysterious cube may lie in the secret archives of the Holy See, and our heroes are go quickly in pursuit. Because really, what else are they going to do?
