The Confession of a Child of the Century

Autor Alfred de Musset
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 27 sep 2007
The Confession of a Child of The Century (1836) by Alfred de Musset is the story of Octave, a young man of means, "taken with the malady of the age" -- a profound disillusionment with the world and humanity -- after his mistress betrays his trust. pThe single incident of infidelity serves as a catalyst that shapes the cynical mindest, following him for the greater part of his life, and imbuing with tragedy his subsequent relationships.

Recenzii

Confession of a Child of the Centuryis not only a searingly honest self-portrait but a portrait of a whole generation...Musset's self-lashing memoir is a defence of human and spiritual values to which he could only aspire. He never reformed and never again wrote anything as good
