Descriere
The Eternal Shadow is the second book in The Selene trilogy, following The Last Feather. A contemporary epic fantasy with worlds of magic, monsters and a war looming.
The story begins with Cassia back where she belongs, but something is different—she still has access to her magic and chooses to use it in the hospital where she works.
The Firsts become aware of her use of magic in a non-magical realm and abduct her. Upon finding out that she has rare healing magic, the king employs her as his personal healer.
Meanwhile, Lucas and their friends are hiding from the king, biding their time while they figure out their next move. Prince Lochlan spends his time in the castle, pretending to be under the king’s command while secretly feeding information to his mother and Lucas, that is, until he sees Cassia at the castle.
After freeing Cassia, the group flees the Selene realm in order to escape the king and search for allies outside of their realm as the Reborns aren’t nearly powerful enough to overthrow the Firsts, let alone the king. But the new realm they’ve landed in, Vineas, isn’t what it used to be. A darkness has settled across the entire realm and in the darkness, shadows are lurking. Shadows that have terrified and weakened Vineas’s inhabitants by feeding on their magic in a way that depletes them of it, forever. What’s worse, is that being fed on by this shadow is traumatizing enough to leave them without any memory of it.
With nowhere else to go, Cassia, Lucas and their friends dedicate their efforts to defeating this shadow being and in return, Vineas will side with the Reborns against the king.
But how will they defeat a being they know nothing about?
And there’s one extra catch—the longer they stay in Vineas, the less access they have over their Selenic magic.

Notă biografică
Shameez Patel Papathanasiou was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. She lives there with her husband, child and two cats named Turbo and Charger. During the day she juggles her time between singing Baby Shark to her daughter and working as a civil engineer where she designs roads and analyses traffic, but at night she writes fantasy worlds with magic, monsters and someone to fall in love with.
She considers herself a professional binge-watcher and fangirl. Don’t be surprised to bump into her dressed as a Hobbit or Lady Loki. Should you need anything from her, offer a choc-chip cookie and her heart is yours forever.
Shameez fell in love with fiction, especially fantasy fiction at a young age. Her parents fondly recall receiving her first handwritten story before the age of ten, titled The Treasures of Zombie Island, which surprisingly featured no zombies at all. She has been writing ever since.
