The Legacy of Faith: The Legacy of Faith, cartea 2

Autor Brian Spielbauer
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 14 mar 2023
The Legacy of Faith: New Beginnings is the continuation of the first book of the series, The Legacy of Faith: The Journey, which covered the journey of the Tschohl and Rohner families, George Spielbauer and Mary Pankraz, from Europe to the Guttenberg Iowa area in the mid-1800s. New Beginnings picks up with 16-year-old John Baptiste Tschohl and his experience in the Civil War. The story then covers the families' challenges as they built their new lives following the great war in western Wisconsin and northeast Iowa. New Beginnings covers 1861-1876 on the far western side of an ever-expanding United States. A secret that one of them hoped to leave behind in the old country seems determined to reveal itself, and it could come at a great price to those desiring to keep it quiet.

Notă biografică

Brian Spielbauer grew up on a farm in northeast Iowa. It sat on a hill overlooking Johles Hollow, about two miles north of Osterdock and seven miles west of Guttenberg. He is the sixth of seven children born to Frank and Jackie (Wessels) Spielbauer. Brian, like all the sons and daughters of Frank and Jackie, played sports growing up. Unlike the rest, he was also in high school plays and was in the band. He also had a vast imagination that allowed him to escape, at times, the bustle of a busy home to withdraw into a different world, one where he took a prominent place in all activities. He graduated from Guttenberg (now Clayton Ridge) High School in 1991, from William Penn University in 1996, and finally from Bemidji State University in 2002. He taught Kindergarten through eighth-grade Physical Education and Science, coached high school sports (but mainly basketball), and then he coached and taught at William Penn for ten years. He then was a college athletic director for seven years; two of them at Presentation College in South Dakota and finally five years at Central Methodist University in Missouri. He married his very supportive and loving wife, Jennifer (Bryant) Spielbauer, in 2001. They live in Fayette, Missouri, with their two wonderful daughters Sydney and Allie.
